How to Inspect the Welding Quality of Curtain Wall Connectors

Visual Inspection
Basic Preparation: Clean the weld surface to remove oil and slag, ensuring a clear field of view.
Visual and Tool Inspection: Inspect the weld with the naked eye or a magnifying glass to confirm the absence of surface cracks, slag inclusions, porosity, undercut, and other defects. Then, use measuring tools to check the weld width, weld height, and weld angle dimensions to ensure they meet design requirements.

Internal Defect Detection
Common non-destructive testing methods can be used to inspect internal problems without damaging the weldment:

Ultrasonic Testing: Conveniently detects internal weld cracks, lack of fusion, slag inclusions, and other defects; widely used.

Radiological Testing (X/Gamma Ray): Provides clear images and is suitable for inspecting small internal defects.

Magnetic Particle/Penetrating Penetrant Testing: Improves detection accuracy for near-surface micro-cracks and defects.

Compliance Verification
Welded connections must comply with design requirements and current welding specifications. Verify the corresponding construction documents and concealed works acceptance records to ensure parameters and processes are compliant.
